What is SnapFind?
SnapFind is your home's searchable memory. Snap a photo of any item and AI instantly names it, categorizes it, estimates its value, and adds searchable tags. Stick QR codes on your bins and boxes, and you'll never dig through storage again — just search the app and it tells you exactly where everything is.
How is everything organized?
SnapFind uses three simple levels: Spaces > Containers > Items. A Space is a physical area like 'Garage' or 'Master Closet'. Containers live inside spaces — bins, boxes, shelves, drawers. Items live inside containers. Large spaces can also be split into Zones (like 'Top Shelf' or 'Back Corner') so containers stay easy to browse.
What's the fastest way to get started?
Three steps: 1) Create your first space (say, 'Garage'). 2) Add a container to it. 3) Open the container, tap the camera button, and start snapping items — the AI handles the naming and categorizing for you. Once that feels natural, add QR codes to your containers so you can scan a bin and instantly see what's inside.
Do I need QR codes to use SnapFind?
Not at all — QR codes are optional, and every feature works without them. But they're a superpower for physical storage: stick one on a bin, and scanning it opens that container instantly. Grab codes from Settings > Buy QR Codes — pre-printed sticker packs shipped to your door, or digital packs you can download and print at home.
Can I use SnapFind on more than one device?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on any number of devices and everything syncs in real time. Add an item on your phone in the garage, and it's already on your iPad in the kitchen.
How does AI scanning work?
Point your camera at an item and tap capture. The AI identifies it and suggests a name, category, estimated value, and searchable tags — usually within seconds. You can edit any field before saving, or just accept the suggestions and keep moving.
Can I capture several items in one photo?
Yes! Switch the camera to Multi mode (a Pro feature), photograph a whole shelf or pile, and SnapFind draws a box around each item it spots, then analyzes them individually. Review the detections, dismiss any you don't want, and save the rest — each becomes its own item.
What is Rapid Capture?
Speed mode for big cataloging jobs. Snap photo after photo without stopping to fill out forms — each shot uploads and processes in the background while you keep shooting. Thumbnails collect at the bottom of the screen so you can review and tweak everything once you're done. Perfect for clearing an entire closet in minutes.
Can I add items without taking a photo?
Yes! In any container, tap the add button and choose the keyboard option to type or paste a list — the AI parses lines like '3 coffee mugs' or 'iPad $600' into proper items. Or choose the microphone option and simply say what you're adding.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
Everything the AI suggests is editable — tap any item to fix its name, category, value, or tags. Want more control? Settings > AI & Automation lets you choose which fields the AI fills in automatically.
How many AI scans do I get?
Unlimited — every plan includes unlimited AI scanning. The difference is speed. Free accounts start with 30 Instant AI scans; after those, scans join the standard queue and typically take 15–50 seconds depending on usage and server load at the time. SnapFind Pro and Teams always skip the line — every scan processes immediately. You can also earn extra instant scans in Settings > Get Free Scans.
How do I add an item to a container?
Open the container and tap the add button. You can snap a photo and let AI name it for you — single shots, Rapid Capture for big cataloging jobs, or Multi mode to catch several items in one photo — type or paste a list of items, or tap the microphone and say what you're adding.
How do I assign a QR code to a container?
Two ways: scan a new code from the Scan tab and SnapFind will create a container with that code already attached, or open an existing container and tap the Assign QR Code button at the top.
What happens when I scan a QR code?
If the code is assigned to a container, the container opens instantly — no tapping through spaces. If it's a fresh, unassigned code, SnapFind offers to create a new container for it. It's the fastest way to answer 'what's in this box?'
How do I replace or unassign a QR code?
Open the container and tap the QR code label at the top — you'll find the Unassign QR Code button underneath. If a sticker gets damaged, just unassign it and assign a new one; your items and container are never affected.
Where do I get QR codes?
Settings > Buy QR Codes gives you two options: durable pre-printed sticker sets shipped from Amazon, or digital QR code packs you can download instantly and print at home. Any unassigned SnapFind code works with any container.
What is a public container?
A public container can be viewed by anyone who scans its QR code with their phone camera — no app or account needed. It's read-only for viewers and only you can edit it. Great for letting family check what's in a box without opening it. To enable it, edit the container and toggle on the public switch (visible once the container has a QR code).
How do I move a container to a different space?
Long-press the container and choose its new space. The container and everything in it move together.
How do I change a container's photo?
Open the container, tap the edit button in the top-right, then tap the container's photo to add or replace it.
I have QR codes numbered 1–48 — can I get some that start at 49?
Every SnapFind QR code is unique. Each code has a letter prefix followed by its number, and no two codes are ever the same — whether they're numbered 1–48 or 49–96. You can mix codes from different packs freely without them ever clashing.
What are zones?
Zones are sub-areas inside a space — think 'Top Shelf', 'Left Drawer', or 'Back Corner'. Once a space has zones, its containers are grouped under tabs so even a packed garage or storage unit stays easy to scan. Zones are free and there's no limit on how many you create.
How do I create and manage zones?
Open a space and tap Add Zone. You can rename, reorder, or delete zones anytime. Deleting a zone never deletes containers — they simply move back to 'Unassigned'.
How do I put a container in a zone?
Long-press the container and pick a zone from the list. Containers without a zone show under the 'Unassigned' tab, and the 'All' tab always shows everything in the space.
What is a linked container?
An item that's also a container. Take a toolbox: it's a possession worth tracking (it lives in a cabinet and has a value), but it also holds things. Linking gives it both identities — it stays an item where it's stored, and opens as a container to reveal what's inside.
How do I create a linked container?
Open the item, tap Advanced, then tap Create Linked Container — or choose Link Existing Container to connect a container you already have. SnapFind links them in both directions: the button becomes 'View Contents' with a live item count, and in the space view the linked container shows a 'Stored in' label so you always know where the physical object lives.
How do I unlink a container from its item?
Open the item, tap Advanced, then tap Unlink Container. Only the connection is removed — the container, its items, and the original item all stay exactly where they are.
When should I use a linked container instead of a regular one?
Rule of thumb: if the thing holding items is itself a possession you'd want in your inventory — a toolbox, camera bag, tackle box, or board game organizer — link it. If it's just storage (a plastic bin, cardboard box, or shelf), a regular container is simpler. And if the container already exists, you never need to recreate it — use 'Stored inside' to move it into another container as-is.
How do I put an existing container inside another container?
Open the container, tap the pencil to edit it, and under Location tap the 'Stored inside' row — or long-press its card in the space view. Pick the destination and confirm. The container keeps all its items and its QR code, appears as an item inside the outer container, and its card stays in the space with a 'Stored in' label. To take it back out, tap the same row.
How do I delete a zone?
On the space screen, tap the button in the top-right corner, then press the delete icon next to the zone you want to remove. Deleting a zone never deletes your containers — they simply move to the 'Unassigned' tab.
What are locations?
Locations are the top level of your organization — a way to group your spaces by home or property. If you keep stuff in more than one place — your house and a lake house, home and an office, or a storage unit across town — create a location for each and file your spaces under it. On the Spaces tab, your locations appear as tabs so you can jump between properties, and an 'All' tab always shows everything at once.
How do I add a location and put a space in it?
Long-press any space you own and tap Location. Pick an existing location, or type a name like '🏖️ Lake House' and tap Create & assign to make the location and file the space in one step. Start the name with an emoji and it becomes the location's icon. You can also add and manage locations from the location tabs at the top of the Spaces tab.
How many locations can I create?
Free members get 1 location; upgrading unlocks up to 5. There's no limit on how many spaces you can file under a single location.
What happens to my spaces if I delete a location?
Nothing happens to the spaces themselves — they just become unassigned and move back under the 'All' view. Deleting a location never deletes or moves the spaces, containers, or items inside it, and you can reassign them to another location anytime.
How do I move a space to a different location or remove it?
Long-press the space and tap Location again, then pick a different location — or choose 'No location' to unassign it. You can move a space between locations as often as you like.
Do the people I share spaces with see my locations?
No. Locations are private to you and are never shared. Shared spaces don't show up in your location tabs, and collaborators can't see or set locations — everyone organizes their own spaces however they like.
How do I set up more than one house or property?
Use Locations. A location is the top level of your organization — create one for each home or property (like your house, a lake house, or a storage unit), then file your spaces under it. Long-press a space you own, tap Location, and pick or create a location. Your locations then appear as tabs on the Spaces tab so you can jump between properties. Free members get 1 location; upgrading unlocks up to 5.
How do I find an item?
Head to the Search tab and type a name, tag, category, or container. Every result shows exactly which space and container the item lives in — finding something is as fast as remembering you own it.
What is AI Smart Search?
Search by meaning, not exact words. Type 'warm jacket for skiing' or 'that fancy kitchen gadget' and AI Smart Search matches items by what they are, even if you named them something completely different. It's a SnapFind Pro feature — ✨ Smart matches appear automatically under your regular results whenever you search.
Can I search with Siri?
Yes! Go to Settings > Siri Voice Search and install the shortcut. Then just say 'Hey Siri, search SnapFind for Christmas lights' and your results open hands-free.
How do tags make search better?
Tags cut across containers and categories. The AI adds tags automatically, and you can add your own like 'fragile', 'holiday', or 'sentimental'. Tag decorations across five different bins with 'Christmas' and pull them all up with a single search.
Do I need to switch between Keyword and AI search?
No — there's just one search box now. Fast keyword matches appear instantly for everyone, and Pro members see a ✨ Smart matches section stream in automatically below them. On the free plan, when keywords come up empty you'll see a preview of what Smart Search found.
How do I select multiple items at once?
Inside any container, long-press an item to enter selection mode (or tap the checkbox button in the toolbar). Then tap items to add them to your selection — up to 100 at a time. An action bar appears at the bottom with everything you can do.
How do I move items to another container?
Select the items, tap Move, and choose the destination container — everything transfers in one shot. Moving just one item? Open it and tap the Move button right in its details.
What else can I do with a bulk selection?
Tag adds the same tag to everything selected, Category assigns one category to all of them, and Delete clears them out in one action. Tap Cancel anytime to exit selection mode without changes.
Can I import items from a spreadsheet?
Yes — Settings > Import Data. Pick a CSV file, map the columns (name, value, category, tags, quantity, and more), preview the result, and import everything into the container of your choice. Perfect for migrating from a spreadsheet inventory.
Can I export my inventory?
Yes! Settings > Export Data generates a CSV with names, values, categories, locations, tags, quantities, checkout status, serial numbers, and notes. Great for backups or crunching numbers in a spreadsheet.
What does checking out an item do?
Checking out marks an item as temporarily away from its container — lent to a friend, packed for a trip, or in use around the house. It lands in the Checked Out tab so nothing gets forgotten, and returning it puts it right back where it belongs.
Can I get reminded to return things?
Yes — Settings > Checked Out Reminders lets you turn on push notifications and choose how often you're reminded about items that are still out.
Can I check out part of a quantity?
Yes. If you own 8 folding chairs and lend out 2, check out just those 2 — SnapFind tracks how many are out and how many are home, and supports partial returns.
I don't need this feature. Can I hide it?
Sure — the checked out feature can be disabled in Settings if you'd rather keep things simple.
What is SnapFind Teams?
Teams turns your inventory into a shared one. Share any space with up to 5 people — family, roommates, or coworkers — and everyone sees the same containers and items, updated in real time. While collaborating, your team members also enjoy Teams benefits like Instant AI scans.
How do I invite someone to a space?
First, have your collaborator create a free SnapFind account. Then long-press the space, choose Share, tap Invite Collaborator, and send them the link any way you like. Once they accept, they join the space — and your SnapFind Teams benefits are extended to them too. Invite links expire after 7 days for security. Inviting someone you've already collaborated with? Quick Add shares a space with them instantly, no link needed.
What can collaborators do — and not do?
Collaborators get full working access: they can view, add, and edit items in the shared space. They can't invite others, remove collaborators, or delete the space — the owner stays in charge of the team, and a collaborator can leave a shared space anytime.
How do I stop sharing a space?
As the owner, open the Share sheet and remove any collaborator — access ends immediately. You can also revoke pending invitations before they're accepted. As a collaborator, you can leave a shared space from the same menu.
What's the difference between a public container and Teams?
A public container is a read-only window: anyone who scans its QR code can see the contents in their browser, with no app or account. Teams is full collaboration — shared spaces everyone can edit together. Use public containers for 'what's in this box?' labels, and Teams for managing an inventory together.
Any camera tricks I should know?
A few favorites: press your volume buttons to snap photos one-handed, pinch to zoom for tight framing, and switch the camera to Barcode mode (a Pro feature) to scan a product's barcode and auto-fill the item's details.
How do I get those clean photos without backgrounds?
On iPhones running iOS 17 or later, SnapFind can automatically remove photo backgrounds, giving your inventory a clean, catalog-style look.
What is Declutter mode?
A guided way to lighten your load. From the Items tab, Declutter walks you through your stuff so you can sort it into Sell, Toss, and Keep piles. For the Sell pile, AI generates marketplace-ready listings — title, description, and pricing — and keeps a running total of your estimated sale value.
Can SnapFind help with insurance?
Yes — the Insurance Report (a Teams feature) generates a professional PDF of your inventory with photos, values, locations, and category totals. Exactly what you want on hand for a claim. Anyone can preview a sample report to see what it looks like.
Where can I see stats about my inventory?
Settings > Inventory Stats shows your total item count, total estimated value, category breakdowns, and your highest-value items. It's surprisingly fun to see what your stuff adds up to.
How do I earn free Instant AI scans?
Settings > Get Free Scans lists quick ways to earn bonus Instant AI scans, like leaving a review or sharing SnapFind. Small favors, faster scans.
Is there a web version of SnapFind?
Yes! The SnapFind Web Portal lets you work with your inventory from any browser — great for bigger screens and keyboards. It's included with SnapFind Teams; head to Settings > Web Portal to get started.
What's included for free?
A lot! Unlimited spaces, containers, zones, and items, plus unlimited AI scans (your first 30 are instant, then scans process in the standard queue), QR code scanning, bulk actions, check-out tracking, search, and CSV import/export. The core of SnapFind is free to use every day.
What do Pro and Teams add?
SnapFind Pro unlocks Instant AI on every scan (always skip the queue), AI Smart Search, Multi mode (capture several items in one photo), and Barcode mode. SnapFind Teams includes everything in Pro, plus space sharing with up to 5 collaborators, the Insurance Report, and the Web Portal. Compare plans anytime from the upgrade banner in Settings.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android). Tap Manage Subscription in Settings to jump straight to your store's subscription page — cancel or change plans anytime.
How do I get help or suggest a feature?

How do I add a box?
Go to the Scan tab and scan one of the QR code stickers from your Moving Kit. The box will be automatically created and organized by room type. You can also tap the "+" button on the Boxes screen to create a box manually.
What do the QR code stickers mean?
Each sticker is labeled with a room type and number (e.g., Kitchen 1, Bedroom 2). Stick them on your moving boxes and scan them to instantly create a digital inventory of that box.
Can I create a box without a QR sticker?
Yes! Tap the "+" button on the Boxes screen and choose "Create manually." This is handy if you run out of stickers or want to add extra boxes.
How do I rename or remove a room from my move plan?
Open your move and tap "Plan rooms" to open the room planner. To rename a custom room, tap the pencil icon on its chip and enter the new name — all of its boxes and packing progress follow along. To remove a room, long-press its chip and confirm: custom rooms are removed from your plan, and Custom A/B labels reset back to "Custom A" and "Custom B" so you can name them again later. Rooms that already contain boxes can’t be removed — they’re part of your move as long as they have boxes in them. Standard rooms like Kitchen or Bedroom can simply be tapped to select or deselect them.
How do I find items after packing?
Use the Search tab to find any item by name, description, or category. AI Smart Search lets you search naturally — try "winter clothes" or "kitchen utensils" to find items across all your boxes.
How does AI scanning work?
Point your camera at items and tap the capture button. Our AI automatically identifies items, suggests names, categories, and estimated values. You can edit any details before saving.
Can I move items between boxes?
Yes! Open a box, select items using bulk selection (long press), then choose "Move to another box" from the action menu.
What happens when my moving mode expires?
After 6 months, you'll have three options: extend moving mode for another 6 months, migrate your items to a permanent SnapFind account, or delete your account. Your data is always preserved until you choose.
How do I extend moving mode?
When your moving mode is about to expire, you'll see a banner on the Boxes screen. Tap it to extend for another 6 months with a one-time fee.
What is SnapFind permanent mode?
SnapFind is a full home inventory app with spaces, containers, QR code organization, checked out tracking, collaboration, and more. When your move is complete, you can migrate all your items into a permanent SnapFind account to keep organizing your new home.
