Why I built SnapFind.
I’m George, the founder of SnapFind. I built it because I was tired of looking for things I knew I owned.
My garage had bins and labels, but I still ended up opening several of them to find one thing. Sometimes I’d buy something again because I couldn’t find the one I already had. Writing more detailed labels sounded good, but keeping them updated was another chore.
I’m a software engineer, so I started working on an app to help. I wanted to take a few photos of what I was putting away and be able to search for it later, without typing out every item.
That became SnapFind. You photograph your things, the AI helps identify them, and the app keeps track of where you put them. QR labels let you scan a box or bin to see what’s inside before opening it.
I still use SnapFind at home, and I handle the product and design myself. A lot of what I work on comes from using it, noticing something that could be easier, or hearing from someone who uses it differently than I do.
