What is CleanSnap?
Every photo you take comes back as a CleanSnap — your item on a plain stage, with the clutter, the carpet and your hand gone, like it was shot in a studio. It happens on our servers seconds after you snap it, with no button to press and nothing to wait for. Your original photo is always kept: it sits one swipe away in the item's photo gallery, so you never trade the real picture for the pretty one.
Which of my photos get a CleanSnap, and how many do I get?
Every new photo you take, seconds after you snap it. The free plan gives you a taste — enough to see what CleanSnap looks like on your own things — Pro gets up to 100 a month, and Teams gets up to 500. Photos already in your inventory are converted one container at a time, on Pro and Teams: open a container and tap the ✨ button at the top, and SnapFind re-shoots the photos inside while you watch. That counts toward the same monthly allowance — anything past it waits for next month, costs you nothing, and the container tells you how many are still to come.
Where did my original photo go?
Nowhere — it is still the photo you took. A CleanSnap is added in front of the original, never in place of it: open the item and press and hold the CleanSnap, or swipe to the next slide in its photo gallery, and there it is. Nothing is deleted, and tapping ✨ in a container puts your originals back there instantly.
How do I turn CleanSnap off, or see the original for just one item?
CleanSnaps are shown one container at a time. Open a container and tap the ✨ button at the top to switch between CleanSnaps and the photos you took — containers you have never switched on show your originals everywhere, including search and the Items tab. Settings > Preferences > AI & Automation has the CleanSnap switch for making them at all: turn it off and nothing new is reshot. For a single item, open it and tap "Use original photo" under its picture, or press and hold the CleanSnap to peek at yours.
Does this change my insurance report or my Declutter piles?
No. Your insurance report always uses the photo you actually took, never a CleanSnap — an insurer needs the real thing, with the real wear on it. Declutter piles show your originals too, for the same reason: that is where you judge the condition of what you own. Sale listings are the one place a CleanSnap is used on purpose, because that is what sells.
Why didn't one of my photos get a CleanSnap?
Some photos are left alone on purpose: pictures of people, documents and receipts, and shots where there is no clear single subject to put on the stage. When SnapFind is not confident it keeps your original rather than inventing something — the item still saves, searches and scans exactly as it always did.
